This magnificent home was designed and constructed with exquisite precision and consideration to fit onto an existing sub-divided inner Adelaide suburban block.
LANGHOMES were briefed to custom design a new home to accommodate the owner’s specific lifestyle needs for formal and informal entertaining, a large storage space for their extensive wine collection, tennis court plus an outdoor viewing area to watch the weekend games.
The solution including land orientation and optimization, was to create three separate low roofline pavilions, each linked together. The front pavilion provided the welcoming entry, study, main bedroom and ensuite, as well as garaging for two cars. The central pavilion was linked by a hallway from the main entry entering into the formal/informal entertaining zones before linking the third pavilion of bedrooms, guest bathrooms and laundry.
An outdoor covered alfresco area was centrally positioned to watch tennis games with easy access to the central pavilion. The answer for wine storage, was to build a large cellar (100m2) under the front pavilion which was accessed by a stairway at the back of the garage and also incorporated a six-carton lift.
An additional freestanding garage for two extra cars and a workshop was incorporated into the front elevation and away from the pavilions.
Finishing touches to the home included polished floorboards throughout, security and home automation systems, 3 metre (10’0”) high ceilings, and designer kitchen with 2 pack doors and stone bench tops.
